To find out more about the Mount Lozere, an impressive massif due to its huge open spaces, its granite chaos and its scenery, the Eco museum welcomes you and introduces its network of partners providing visits to natural historical and heritage sites (educational trails, exhibitions, farms, castles etc ;)

The mont Lozere Eco –museum hosts a permanent exhibition at Le Pont de Montvert that retraces the natural and human history of the mountain : A good introduction before discovering the Eco-museum’s other sites (typical hamlets, discovery trails)

  • Le sentier historique du village du Pont de Montvert (1h)
  • le sentier historique de Vialas (1h)
  • le sentier de Mas Camargues, la relation entre l'homme et la montagne autour d'un (1,2 ou 4h)
  • le sentier de Montcuq sur les rôles de la forêt (1h 30)
  • le sentier de la pelouse, au sommet de Finiels, découverte d'un milieu très particulier (2h)
  • le sentier des menhirs (2h)
  • le sentier du château de Tournel, château médiéval attesté du 13 éme siècle (1h 30)
  • le sentier de l'Hermet, permet de découvrir les paysages forts diversifiés de la vallée du Tarn (3h)
  • le sentier des pradillous, en lisière de forêt (1h)
  • le sentier de la Viale, emprunte un béal et traite de l'eau (5h)
  • le sentier historique du village de Villefort

 

Pratical information

The museum is open the whole year, from november untill april every saterday from 3PM untill 6 PM

In April, mai and october every afternoon from 3PM untill 6 PM

in june, july and august every day from 10 30 AM untill 00 30 PM and from 2 30PM until 6 30PM

Iit has the label "Musée de France"
