Guest rooms of the Vernet

Animaux acceptés   ANCV   Gîte Panda Gîtes de France 3 épis Bienvenue à la Ferme

In the heart of the Cévennes National Park, between the Col de Jalcreste and Saint Germain de Calberte, you will discover Vernet, a sheltered hamlet built with schist stones...

The surrounding mountain is beautiful, simple and quiet. The climate is mediterranean. We are located at a height of 620m. Gérard & Sabine will welcome you and take their time to share their life and experience and hear yours.

In this region full of history, where the war of the Camisards took place, they rebuilt the houses and the farm of this hamlet. They preserved the authenticity of the architecture and kept the spirit of the ancient farmers alive: the sheepfold and its ewes which move to summer pastures on the Mont Lozère, the donkeys and horses you can feed...

During meals, under the vine arbour or in the main room, you will taste our local specialties, charcuterie, fresh vegetables from our garden, lamb from the mountain, pélardon (goat cheese), tasteful strawberries and raspberries! During breakfast you will enjoy our home made yogurt, our leavened bread and coloured jams...

You will spend one or several days in these mountains, amongst our green oaks and chestnut trees, where each and every season brings changes in the colours, shades in the landscapes and takes your breath and your heart away, where the only thing you can hear is the sheeps' bell ringing and the birdsongs...
